Default BLOCK CRACKED!!!!! (HELP)

alright i have a freshly sleeved benson block, and it was completely built and i finally got it in, during its first heat cycle i leaked about 2 quirts of oil. i find the leak coming from the oil sending unit(also where my T is for my oil feed line) well i figure it wasnt tightend or something. so i get under the car start to see if it was tighen and crack, half the tab on the block that holds the oil sending unit broke off. i figured out to run my oil feed line and oil sending unit off of the greddy block adaptor now the hole is my problem. i pluged the hole with jb weld after friends told me it would work and reading up on it seemed like it was really good ****. well i keep reading after im done putting it on and it might have been a bad move. i have no expericne with this stuff and went off of others who used it.. i kinda want to get it welded now but not sure what to do sense the jb weld is there nad somewhat into the hole........i could really use some help on what i should do. i dont want to risk loosing the motor over this.

**sorry for the 2 threads in both welding and tech but want as much imput and help as possible**

you could use a 1/8" pipe tap and tap out what is left and use a plug to cap it off,

Drill it out a little, use a bigger tap (if 1/8 NPT won't seal) and plug it...

chisel it, sprinkle holy water, pee on it or some derivative there of.

its a cement epoxy, it's gonna take some work to get it off now that you caked it on there after panic'ing.

as long as it doesnt leak I'd leave it alone.

Could you post of a picture of how bad this crack is? Heat cylcing is only going to make it worse in the end, so either drilling it out completely, or welding it while its small might be the only options.

I had a block crack like that. I welded it shut (TIG) and then put jb weld over it. No problems. Used a ?Golden Eagle LS/vtec adapter for oil supply.

my friend is going through the same problem, and retapping the hole bigger is not an option since the engine is in the car and running. we will be tigging the hole shut and moving the oil sending unit to the cylinder head.
