Default Bends on a manifold

OK, I am about to start mock up on my first manifold. I am using sch40 mild steel pipe. I have a bunch of 90's and a few feet of straight pipe. For doing some small bends, what should I do make those? Cut the straight pipe at an angle with my chop saw or what? I know i could cut the 90's if i had a bandsaw, but what should I do? With my chop saw, the 90 bend won't stay clamped to cut at a 45 degree angle. Just buy some 45's? Thanks for the help

Start with plastic pvc pipe, easy to cut, same thing as the metal but easier to cut and work with till you get the angles figured out. Plus you can melt it together.

If your having a hard time cutting 90's and don't have the set up to do it, it will be a pain in the butt to do.

Could also try holding the 90 to the plate on the chop saw with some vice grips or welding clamps...

Ive cut 90*'s with a chopsaw back in the day by holding it by hand with an old welding glove. It wasnt fun but it worked.

This isn't exactly a 90 mounted but thats how to do it and be somewhat safe.
