300ZX Front mount ic pics
I doubt many of you are 300z fans, and i don't blame you, pain in the butt to work on! Anyways, here's some pics of a front mount intercooler i'm buiding for one at my shop. You don't see many front mounts on 300z's because of the twin turbo twin t/b configuration. I used a 24x10.5x3.5 precision intercooler core and made the end tanks out of .125" 6061 T6 plate. Air will flow across in opposite directions. The core is split in half. One goes in on the bottom left and out on the bottom right, and the other goes in on the top right and out on the top left. Thought i'd share some pics.
I'm also working on a pretty cool ic/turbo setup on a sfwd car right now, but I want to wait until it's finished to post pics.

I build 300zx's, and that is a pretty good looking FMIC, there are a few company's that make kits already they are pretty crappy, and out of shitty IC core's.
I am designing a Single turbo kit for the Z so it can run turbo's up to 76mm, and compete better with the supra's.
good luck and keep up the good work.

****, i'm sure you can imagine the intercooler piping involved with twin turbos and twin throttle bodies. Can't afford wiggins in that kind of quantity! lol

yup; looks nice
i have a 91 n/t 5spd 2+2 300zx that id down at the moment. its got a blown headgasket. With as cheap as z32 parts are getting i'm seriously considering finding a TTZ front clip and doing a TT swap. i've seen people grab full clips for ~ $1500-2500; sell some parts off it and my na parts and slap on some T28 turbo's; better clutch and a 1 piece driveshaft and I sould be good I already have an AshSpec chip and some software to play with the maps

Re: 300ZX Front mount ic pics (iAccord)
Extremely nice work Tony. Ive always enjoyed pictures of what youve been up to. I was wondering, what thickness that aluminum is, what machine you are using, and how many amps you were running(approx.)?
One more thing, I am pretty good at aluminum, but have never had any luck joining 2 welds. Like where a horizontal and vertical joint come together. I see on that intercooler, you have alot of those, and they all look great. Any tips/tricks on how to do that?
Thanks in advance, and again, GREAT WORK!
Kyle

These are made out of 1/8" thick aluminum plate. They were welded with a Miller Syncrowave 250. I don't know the amperage, I run the **** around 175 or so, but I know i'm not using that much, maybe 120amps or so.
No more fog lights. This is a "street car" in the sense that our crazy hondas are street cars. No ac, no ps, Motec M600, etc...
