FS: 1988 Honda Civic Wagovan 5-speed near Atlanta, GA
FOR SALE: 1988 Honda Civic Wagovan with mods for $2,700 OBO
1988 HONDA CIVIC WAGOVAN 5-SPEED
VIN: JHMEY3749JS003735
Honda Element Orange
302,500 miles – motor swapped to JDM D15 at 285,000 (HMotorsonline.com)
Clean carfax – I’m the fourth owner – always a southern or southwestern car.
ABSOLUTELY NO RUST or WRECKS.
I purchased the car with just under 260K on the odometer in August 2005. I put over 40K miles in just under two years of daily commuting through Atlanta. The car has had regular oil changes, alignments, general maintenance, and performance modifications. I have receipts for nearly every item purchased or service performed, including the engine swap at Mainstream Performance in Powder Springs, GA. The motor was replaced at 285K with a JDM D15, though I chose to keep the DPFI. The car has never failed me, and I expect the same reliability for the new owner. The car is an excellent combination of performance and practicality. It will be missed.
I am selling the car because I recently purchased a new toy AND my dad gave me his old work truck. My wife and I do not need four vehicles, so the faithful little Honda has to go.
Items that were on my to-do list:
Distributor o-ring has slow leak.
Front, lower ball joints are wearing down.
Steering rack functions fine, but is the original part.
The following modifications and components have been installed since August 2005. I’ve included the prices I paid (new and used).
Component Cost
JDM D15 Motor Swap installed 900
New thermostat
OE clutch
Complete A/C replacement 2000
New starter 300
O2 sensor 30
Battery 50

Larger ID muffler 100
VX Wheels with good tires 250
Koni Yellows 450
Ground Control OTS coilovers 400
Ground Control Top Hats (4) 250
ATE front rotors & pads 125
New front calipers 200
New rear drums & shoes 200

Thank you for looking.
