Default Would it be ok if...

I have a Stage 2 Competition Clutch I bought from a friend of mine. He used it on a 285whp boosted b16 for about 15k miles. The disk has veryyyyy little meat left on it. I was thinking of just ordering a new Stage 4 sprung disk and keeping the pressure plate. I read that all the pressure plates are the same from stage 1-5, only the disk are different.

So my question is would it be fine if I just bought a brand new competition stage 4 disk and used the same old pressure plate?

As long as the pressure plate is fine and within spec, there isn't a problem in doing this. Resurfacing for proper break-in never hurts either...

If you want to post up some pictures of the surface of the pressure plate, I'll let you know what I would recommend.

Be aware, that if the clutch was slipping a bunch the diaphragm on the plate may have lost some strength, but yes the pressure plate is the same 2 vs 4

The clutch didn't slip to my knowledge, his motor ended up cracking all 4 pistons and he decided to fully build it and get a clutch to support 400whp+. Which is how I ended up with the stage 2 for a great price .

Anyway here are the pics;

If you can measure the thickness on the disc and check to see if the pressure plate friction surface is still flat, it could be usable on a stock car.
