Default What Diff is this??

Helping a friend build a trans and what differential is this? I have never seen it before... Google was not my friend lol

You'll blow it to hell and back if you run it in your car.

Better than nothing but if used on road courses or rally it will heat up and it will start feeling like an open diff. Commonly used in center diffs.

because i just ran into the same diff (looks the same) in my mates tranny (jdm gsr s80 lsd) and when i opened it up i saw gears a la quaife/type-r

also a BIG pita, just bought a quaife and offcourse this 14 bolt ring gear won't bolt up to a normal quaife
having spend extraaaaaa cash for another FD is no fun

They do have gears inside, but not in the same concept as that of a helical LSD...

they typically blow needle bearings, taking out the small gears as well, ending up like this:
