Default transmission problem

I am in middle of rebuilding my b18c1 with the stock transmission from my gsr. I have the fidanza flywheel and competition stage 4 clutch all brand new. I am having a problem with getting the transmission to bolt up it wont go all the way in it stops about 1/2 inch from the block. Has any one had this problem before? what should I do?

Turn the flywheel until the mainshaft splines line up with the clutch hub.

I've been trying that just I was turning the transmission shaft instead of the flywheel and clutch. I don't if that makes a difference or not

Have to pull the trans away to spin the mainshaft so its hard to line it up that way. Spin the flywheel with the trans in place.

No problem. Its easier to do if you have someone to help the first time or two.
