Alright I have jdn hydro b16 tranny. One day I was driving car doing like 7000rpm in third gear and I felt a stutter in motor so I slowed down. Whenever I would accelarate car would stutter and something would whine.. I could tell it was coming from the tranny....any ways I parked car at home and left it to sit for 2 days. Then when I went to see what was wrong first thing I did was I jacked front wheels up and ran car tyhrough every gear and it sounded and felt fine. When I put it back on the floor and drove it 30 ft later I started to leak tranny fluid. When I checked where it was coming from, I noticed my casing was cracked. So once I drained all oil I looked at crack and I saw some sharp peice of metal, about the diameter of a spark plug that had penetrated through casing. Does any one know what this could be? I haven't torn apart tranny cuz idk what to look for

 

Chunk of steel from a gear or the diff.

Fix it (broken part and cracked case, as well as cleaning/replacing some bearings if need be due to debris) or buy another trans to put in. Those are your only options. Buying a used trans in good condition will save you headaches and most likely money if you've never worked on a trans before.

 

Will ls bearings work?

 

bearings won't matter, find another tranny.
