Recived my synchrotech bits the other day.
Am doing the diff bearing change. As per the supplied diagram you install the shims(2 supplied) one goes on each end of the diff before the bearings are pressed on.
Then there is another larger shim(large circlip) supplied.
I take it after removed the tapper bearing outer race from the top half of the gearcase you fit the shim.
But and there is always a but.... do you removed the standard silver shim and dark steel spacer?
Also on the bottom case after the taper bearing outer race is removed do you remove the standard dark steel spacer also?
I fitted exactly as per the supplied diagram i.e removed all the standard(bearings, spacers and shims) gear and fitted the new gear.
Anyone have any ideas?

Yes, you need to remove all the old shims and races and install the new shims and bearings as shown in the diagram provided. Check the preload by installing only the differential with the new bearings and shims and bolting the 2 case halves together. You should be able to spin the differential freely but have no side to side movement.

Sorted it mate, but thanks for the quick reply.
I kinda worked out that with the Mfactory plate type lsd(which is what I am using) those small diameter shims you supplied are not needed. The diff has them built in. When I was dummy fitting and checking the clearences the case would not shut. Pressed the bearings off and removed the shims and it all worked well.
The large circlip shim is used though.
Thanks again regards Alex.
