^^ title is supposed to say (shifter stuck)

i have a 98 honda prelude, so i was on my way home when i stopped at a light. when it changed i put it in 1st, and let off the clutch and gave it gas my car started shaking and turned off. when i tired turning it on i put the clutch all the way down, but the shifter wouldnt go into gear. but with the car off the shifter could move into any gear.... can comeone help me and let me know this asap. i think it could be one of the cables im not sure. i've searched but havent found anything in real details. my master cyclinder is good and theres fluid. no codes or anything.

 

Sounds like it may be a clutch related issue...cables are cables...If they work with the car off then it is not the cables. When the car is on you are dependent upon the clutch working properly to allow the trans to engage in gear.

 

try starting the car with it in first gear and the pedle depressed and see if the car lurches.
