Default lsd install: cracked speedo ring

i have an 00 si trans and im in the middle of installing an OBX lsd and a LS 5th gear.

i used a three jaw puller to remove the speedo ring from the old diff. i noticed its cracked and i assume i did this while pulling it off. a new diff(th only way to get a new ring) from honda is $500 bucks so thats not gonna happen.

anyway, my question: is there anyway to fix this ring(ie: JB weld or epoxy) to make it work or am i pretty much boned and should try and sorce out another diff to get the ring from?

a used diff with a ring go for 30-50$. just have a machine shop take it off if your not sure you can do it. i wouldnt epoxy the old one,you wont find out it wont work until everything is tgether and the speedo wont work

Next time, put the diff in the freezer for like 15 minutes, then get a torch out and heat the speedo gear. A 3-jaw puller will have it off pretty easily.

Just look for a used diff with one. Depending on how it is cracked, it's useable (meaning: filing some ridges down from cracked teeth, but not much more).

i have some speedo gears. pm me if you're still in search and want to purchase one. heed the torch advice for removal. and when installing onto a cool diff, heat expands it to drop on then it shrinks tight.
