Default In-line Trans Filter-Direction of Flow?

2005 CR-V EX AWD Automatic Transmission. Can anyone tell me the direction of flow for the in-line transmission filter and cooler (built into the radiator). The crimped metal joint in the filter is offset. Does the fluid flow into the end closer to this band or the end farther from the band?

put another way, does the fluid flow from the the transmission through the filter into the transmission cooler, or does it flow out of the cooler, through the filter and then back to the transmisison?

The filter can only be installed one way into its retainer bracket, but I want to back flush the cooler before I put the new filter in.

Thanks!

Default Re: In-line Trans Filter-Direction of Flow?

I found the answer-the direction of flow is from the passenger side to the driver's side. The fluid flows out of the cooler at the bottom of the radiator into the filter and back to the transmission.

I figured out a safe, easier, less expensive (less fluid used) method to do a thorough transmission flush while doing my research. I'll post a separate thread on it in the near future when I have time.
