Default intermittent slipping when accelerating

having an issue at times when i accelerate after shifting. It clutch seems to slip at times only when car has been in stop and go driving ( i suspect too much heat). Does fine when driving on highway, or in the morning when first start driving. It also does it in every gear, but only when it has been warmed up. I have recently replaced the clutch, unfortunately with an oreilly brand type, also have does the rear main seal. Any ideas here? is there a sensor or something heating up and failing at times or another possible leak causing my clutch to slip? BTW the vehicle is a 99 civic d16y7 with around 350xxx miles.

Brand of clutch ? Honestly i would suspect a faulty pp.

was it doin it with the old clutch ?

How much clutch free play do you have ? Should only be an inch or so. Too much free play can cause this.

i honestly dont remember the brand of clutch, but it was from a local parts store (oreilly's if you are familiar with...not the best quality). The quality of the clutch kit was my only doubt. It was working perfectly fine when installed, but after around 3-4 months after install was when it started acting up and has ever since. It wasnt doing it with the old clutch intermittently, just constantly. Good idea with the free play, i do seem to have a bit more than an inch. How do i adjust?

You have to loosen the locknut at the pushrod and remove the cotter pin and disconnect it. Then either tighten or loosen the end of the pushrod to lessen the free play. I forget which way at the moment.

Then reinstall and be sure to tighten the pushrod locknut. This is mandatory.
