Default To do or not to do?

I found a very clean 1 owner 2000 civic hatch but it's an automatic. Which is ok for now because I just need some transportation for now. But eventually would like to have a 5 spd and make it go fast!

Just wondering if I am eventually gonna do an engine swap, do the tranny and all that good stuff to? Or is it a lot more work than that?

Any experienced guys could help me out.

It just seems like a real clean 1 owner hatch is hard to come by

Thanks

D series auto TO B series manual

-Swap in brake and clutch pedal assembly
-Clutch master cylinder and lines
-Shift linkage
-shifter
-axels
-ecu
-some wiring
-rear t bracket mount
-b series longblock
-b series trans of choice

Seems like something you can tackle?

There are so many Honda's out there. You're going to save time and money by just waiting for the one you want rather than buying a D-series auto and trying to convert it to manual. Just my opinion but I do not see the point in doing an auto-manual conversion when you can just buy a manual and be done with it.

Well I was planning on driving it for a while and putting other mods on it as I go along like suspension wheels tires brakes. And then eventually do the engine and tranny.

I understand the simplicity of just getting a manual it just seems rare in this part of the country to find a clean Honda especially hatch.

I don't really know what I'm going to do? Lol

If you live in a place where it's very hard to find a clean rust free civic you will.

For what it's worth it adds very little to a swap overall to do a manual swap at the same time. You're already buying the mounts, T-bracket, clutch, shift linkage, etc anyway when you're doing a B-series swap. About all it adds is the pedal installation, clutch hydraulics and some wiring.
