Difficult to put in reverse
Why on every Honda / Acura I have ever owned is it hard to put it into reverse? Can anything be done about it?
Also, the shifter rocks forward hard when I let off the throttle suddenly. Is this a tranny issue or an engine mount issue?

Well it's not a major problem, just an annoyance. This happens on my wife's 01 Civic EX and my 97 Integra GSR. It was a problem on my previous 92 Integra LS and my previous 92 Civic with a JDM LSD SOHC trans. You put it in reverse and it doesn't quite click in solid, then you let out the clutch and hear that it's not gear.
I know that reverse is straight cut but there's no way that these cars had this issue when they were brand new.

so I can't tell whether the car has issue when brand new
if going from 1st to reverse doesn't help, try putting it in 1st, letting the clutch out a little so you can feel 1st gear load up, then slide it into reverse.. works everytime!

The ones that do..well you may have ran the trans low on fluid and heated up the Reverse assembly..that will intern cause problems since they will not operate smoothly. Seen it happen quite a bit!
My Reverse problem has been fixed..
Found out to be a toasted shift rod
now I have no problems shifting into reverse with 100% accuracy and no hard shift at all...

^^^ Do you mean the shaft which exits the trans that the linkage bolts to, or are you referring to the 5-R shift fork?
And in either case, what the hell did you, or a previous owner, possibly do to mess that up? lol

Honda transmissions use a straight cut non synrco revearse gear, so when you shift into revears a arm drops allowing a reverse idle gear to drop straight down and engauge the reverse gear. This normal for over time wear from the straight cut non syncro gear to wear slightly causing it to get slightly harder to go into reverse. Never force the car into reverse because then you will damnage the shift fork and possibly the gear.
Now as for the shifter rocking I would check the rear motor mount off the T bracket and your front tq mounts. More than likely your rear motor mount is worn and need replaced
