clutch problem 2
I replaced the slave and master cylinder about 4 months ago, did everything right, bench bled the Master cylinder, bled the slave twice and i got the clutch just the way i wanted it.
once again my clutch lost pressure, damn SMC... but i found out that the rubber piece that covers the pin inside has a tear but no hole anywhere, not sure how that happened, so just out of curiosity i filled up the CMC reservoir, semi patched up the tear with some duct tape (after watching mythbusters and what ductape can do i figured i'd give it a shot lol) and bled the clutch, got the pressure back but it grabs really low and when i let off the clutch it only springs back up 3/4ths of the way up, not all the way back to it's resting spot.
For sure i'm going to replace the torn rubber cover but also my co-worker was messing with the rod that connects to the back of the clutch pedal and into the CMC, i've read that if it's messed with it affects how far the clutch fork moves? what's the proper way to adjust it and how do you know once you get it to the correct length? also i was wondering what is the purpose of a return spring and could that be one of my problems?
Thank You
