Checking an ITR Differential

Checking an ITR Differential
I'm rebuilding my YS1 cable transmission due to a slight grinding of 3rd gear during high shifts and I'd like to test the differential to make sure it's working properly. Is there a visual inspection? If I remove the ring gear screws, if their a way of making sure everything is fine besides just a visual inspection of the internals?

Re: Checking an ITR Differential
I dont mean to be rude but if you're posting this, you probably shouldn't tear into the differential. If you just want to learn its ok I guess, but be very careful. There is a series of clutches in the differential, the only this you can do is take them out and remember their order(fairly easy). Clean all the discs and re-install after visual inspection. You should be able to see the lines on the clutches just like you would on a regular clutch, except these are steel. Hope it helps.

I don't meant to be rude but it you are posting this, you should give accurate information. There are no clutch discs in an OEM ITR B-series differential. It is very easy to disassemble and reassemble.
