Default B18 Tranny Problems

Alright a couple weeks ago I bought a 91 hb cause some drunk driver wrecked my 93 coupe and this things got a b18b1 swap from a 94 integra ls which makes me happy and sad at the same time cause having vtec is key so a head swap is in the near future. As for now the car has trouble shifting into fifth and reverse it can get into gear but not easily. I think the problem is with the shift linkage my question is what else would it be and how hard is it to repair because ive never done any tranny work before.

It is probably a worn 5/R synchro sleeve. When the engagement teeth get rounded on the 5th gear side, the sleeve will bind on the hub making the reverse shift difficult.
