I have a Boosted civic and my trans is acting up after i got the car off the dyno. I put the car on a lift and let it run in 1's gear and one axle is wobbling where it meets the Transmission. Could this be a bearing that could be fixed? I really want to fix this tranmission myself if i can. it shifts perfectly and dont grind.. just makes a vibration while driving cause of this wobble.

the axle in it now is brand new and still have the same problem so i know it is in the Trans.

 

i have the exact same problem. the pass side axle wobbles in the diff. i tore the transmission apart and with the differntial on the bench put the axle shaft in it. it seems like mine the side gears inside the diff are way looser then they sould be(the axle shaft seats in the side gear). my diff bearings were all tight and i also tryied a new axle shaft didn't help. im thinking the differential is bad unless you can shim the side gears somehow. i would really like a second opinion on this though.

 

If the CV wobbles, slop is in the diff; fix it before it breaks. If the axle wobbles in the CV, slop is in the CV. Get new CV. (OEM, Not aftermarket).

 

My axles are new oem replacements from Autozone. they have always seemed to work fine for me. im like 90% sure the problem is in the transmission..just trying to find out if its worth fixing or should i hunt for a new trans. like i said my trans still shifts and drives perfect. but if i hammer on the gas i feel a vibration from that wobble. and it is a 320hp track car so im worried and cant race it knowing that i have that problem..

 

i would look into a lsd if everything else in your trans is good. thats the route im going.
