comp. clutch stage 5 kit, tranny cant get into gears @ high rpm
I have a competition clutch stage 5 kit in my 95 honda civic B-series motor with a hydro transmission, Im running into a problem, so im looking to see if u guys can help me out..... My transmission is in good working order on my daily driven stock gsr motor with stock flywheel/pressure plate and a ACT 6 puck disc, it drives and shifts smooth at any rpm. So then i use my transmission onto a built 95mm stroker b series motor with the competition stage 5 clutch kit with a 8lb. flywheel and now it does not let me get into gears any thing over 7k rpm, seems like the clutch is engaging at 7K rpm even if the clutch pedal is fully pressed down to the floor, I also notice that when i put it in first gear while my feet is fully pressed onto the clutch pedal and rev up the motor to launch the car, it tends to pull forward after the rpm reaches 7k ..... also the clutch won't disengage when I step on the clutch pedal at high rpms to shift, so i cant get into any gears at high rpms while racing... please help me out.........

A few people including myself have had the same problem. I adjusted the free play (lengthened the rod) and it shifts fine now.

your pressure plate is broken. cc clutch stage 5 sucks. my friend just broke one at the track doing a burnout. get exedy or act. exedy is the only single disc clutch that i never had a problem with.

unless you got defective pressure plate only thing engaged and disengaged the clutch or your syncrho's and slider going bad not synchronize when you shifting on high rpm

I'm having the same exact issue as the OP. It's with a stage 3 CC kit though. It seems Competition Clutch is either having issues with their manufacturing process, or they're intentionally producing kits that require the use of their custom stepped flywheels...
It's no coincidence that everyone with Comp Clutch kits are having the exact same problem! I sent my kit back to CC and was told I need to buy their flywheel, because there is nothing wrong with the kit. That sounds like shady business tactics to me. Why would buying their flywheel fix the issue, unless they're changing the stepping requirement on your clutch kits?
If this stepping requirement is indeed true, it MUST be advertised on their website.
We all need to get together and fight this.
