Alright guys...need some help.
I am getting ready to buy a b16 cable tranny for my b18. I found one for $280...no known problems with the tranny. I am thinking about going with lsd because my next investment on the car is going to be turbo. So anyways I was looking at the OBX LSD for $400.
Now I found a guy locally that I know pretty well that said he would install the new LSD for $200. Thats also pulling the trans apart and checking all the dog teeth and cleaning them up if there are any burs. I just feel like maybe doing this would be over my head. I have never really taken a tranny apart.
What do you guys think...is all that sound like a good deal? What should I do HT...I am lost when it comes to trannys.

Yea, I have since been looking at the MFactory LSD of the OBX. Sounds like a better product. Does cost 200 dollars more tho....maybe if I install it myself I would be able to save the money. Hope its not a project over my head.

$200 labor, $150 normal parts, gas for the driving, inspect the rest, expect 3-4 synchro assembly to be replaced at $200 or so, then you get to drop and install the tranny.

 

Well after reading I guess the MFactory doesnt make a LSD for cable tranny. I dont know what im going to do now...shoot. Should I look into buying a hydro tranny instead of a cable?

 

Has that been proven yet? Aqua was going to test fitment but I haven't heard any results. Im using a quaife in my cable s1 trans and it is the same part# for every b16/ls trans, cable and hydro. Unless mfactory changed the overall size somehow I don't see why it wouldn't work, the dimensions are the same for cable and hydro.

MFactory B16/LS LSD works in the cable B16.

 

I was saying it hasn't been proven that the mfactory doesn't work in a cable trans. But...
