auto trans gearing
just wondering if anyone knows if there are any differences in the d series transmissions as far as the final ratios go. i have a eg with the dx auto trans, but if there is another transmission that cruises at a lower rpm on the highway i would like to know about it since i do a lot of highway driving. i know automatics aren't cool, but if anyone can help i would appreciate it.

Re: auto trans gearing
'92 - '95 Are all geared the same. '96 - '00 are all geared the same. Theres nothing you can do with the automatic to drop the RPMs on the highway. Swapping in a DX 5 speed transmission will net you a significant increase in MPG though.

Re: auto trans gearing
EX has a longer 5th gear for lower crusiing RPM, the DX motor doesn't have the torque to pull the EX gear.
D15B7 = .673 4th
D16Z6 = .638 4th
Also there is a difference in line pressures and shift points.
