Default ATF help

Hello Guys,

My dad got a civic ex 2001 with 55,000 miles, transmission oil has never been changed.
I went to the dealer and they said that they got the AFT z1 I guess, available in a bottle of 4 quarts at 110$.That sounds crazy!
Can i use valvoline or castrol ATF instead of honda OEM ATF?

In my older Hondas I've been using Castrol ATF for imports like Honda/Toyota/Nissan. They have changed the label design but this is what I was using, about $7 a quart.

NO ATF +4 is for Chrysler and maybe Hyundi.
The Castrol Import is exactly like the picture. I use Valvoline MaxLife Dex/Merc which is also highly regarded in my out of warranty Honda.
