other than meaning its out of a 1998 itr...what does this mean?
basically im looking to know the differences between a 98 itr trans and a 01 gsr trans, as i have the opportunity to pick up a 98 gearset with 4.7fd.
im just unsure about it it will fit, since even mfactory list a ton of stuff that wont fit a 98 spec, etc.
any insight is greatly appreciated.

JDM 98+ ITR 4/5 is the same as USDM GSR. Only the 3rd is the same as the ITR. Must use the JDM 1st gear to use the JDM FD. Not 100% sure about ring gear fitment so I won't say anything.

so wait whats the same, is 4/5 the same or 3rd? my main confusion now is if the jdm countershaft is needed to run the jdm FD?
also i know you deal with mfactory a ton...do you know if the 3.07 first gear will work with the jdm fd? my guess is no....
