Default Zinc Oil Additive

I know awhile back I spoke with Pirate about an oil additive that would help eliminate issues on h22s of rocker arm wear. Does anyone else know more about this ?

I was under the impression that most oils already have zinc additive in them.

That is why the Torco SR-5 oil is marked for off road or race use only. Because of the zinc and moly content it won't pass emissions or at the very leaset make it difficult.

Your right. All oils have zinc in them. Zinc is an antiwear agent. But, recently, the EPA has made the oil companies cut back on their zinc content. The reasoning behind this is that excessive zinc will mess up your catalytic converter/o2 sensor. This is a big deal in the v8 world with flat tappet OHV cams, but I dont think its that much of a concern in the honda world. If you want an oil that has more zinc than others, get some redline.

also for more than you want to know about oil, check out:

What about something as simple as this ? I'm sure a higher end company offers something similar. This is just an example.

why is that exactly ?
Not taking emissions equipment or emissions at all into consideration.
