ZEX Spark Plugs - worth it?
Hey guys, I'm new to the nitrous scene, and my friend is getting his Zex kit in the mail this week. He has brand new Bosch Platinum +4's. Is it worth it for him to get the ZEX spark plugs? They're only $20, but is he just going to be wasting his time/money? He's only going to be spraying a 55 shot, maybe a 65 or 75 down the line, but not very often at all. He's set on 55.
Thanks,

I wouldn't run the Bosch Platinums, they are too hot of a plug. Next the Zex plugs are great. They lasted about 8 months on my shops project cars. The only draw back to them is that they have 3 prongs, with N2o I have read it's better to have a single prog spark plug. (Please correct me if I'm wrong). NGK has a colder series of plugs available. See if you can get ahold of a set of them, and good luck!

Forgot to mention, another guys car I work with, 97 jetta, had a zex kit on it just a 55 shot. He left the Bosch plugs in it and ended up dropping cylinder 2. So he rebuilt and did a turbo motor...
He even had the timming retarted 2 degrees. Bigger injectors, stock fuel pump. I can't fully blame the kit or the plugs we didn't really inspect it before he tore it down....but it makes sence if he was running a hotter plug... As to what you said about running all motor on the ZEX plugs in the civic it was a D16z6 with 160,000 miles on it factory sealed with a ZEX stage 1 cam it and ran consistent 9.5 in the 8th.....

Reason being, you can't run platinum plugs with nitrous.
I can't say all ZEX plugs are bad, I may have had a bad set, but they made my car misfire.

I disagree with the ZEX plugs being bad, could've been a bad set. I ran multiple plugs on my nitrous D16Z6 and had the best performance out of the ZEX only second to the stage colder NGK plugs. Car will run fine off the bttl too. The thing I particularly liked about the ZEX plugs was even when I was running 75 shot ADV 1deg on timing, they still weren't burning up like I thought they would. Leaner tha Meaner and they held up very well. Plus they're cheap as **** too.

I second this!
This is what I used when I ran my 55 shot.
