ZC and D16A1 questions
Im going back to school soon, and cant afford to put a B series engine into my EF. So the only other choice I have is either a ZC engine or a D16A1 from a first gen integra. And I have a few questions about this swap in my 90' Civic Si.
Question 1: What parts will I need to make this a complete swap, like axles, ecu, shift linkage, mount or do I need any of these parts at all?
Question 2: Will parts like IM and Header from USDM D series engines fit on a ZC? Like a turbo kit for a 88-91 Civic, will the turbo manifold fit on the ZC?
Question 3: Will internal parts like pistons, rods, crank, bearings, and the likes from USDM D series engines fit in the JDM ZC?
And any other help on this swap would be great. Like what parts can be swaped over, anything at all would be great. Im new the the EF would and what works with them. TIA.

You CANNOT put a D16A1 from an 86-89 Integra into an 88+ Civic/CRX without lots of fab work. All of the engine and tranny mounts are different. Make sure you get a ZC that fits 88+ cars. It is easiest to use your 90 Si tranny with your 90 Si flywheel, pressure plate and clutch. You should probably also use the ecu meant for the engine that you are swapping in.
most of the other parts will fit also. they have the same cylinder bore as other d series blocks. pistons rods, etc will work...ynot too sure about the crank though. you could also use a turbo kit from an 88-91 crx, but the exhaust manifold ports may not line up properly...very easy fix though. use a dremel to port out the manifold.
it should really bolt right in, but you need the zc axles and intermediate shaft if you use the zc tranny.
