1. yes you can Z6 v.train assembly on the Y8 head, but why? its suggested to keep the valve train assembly with the original head it came with.

2. yes, you can keep the same timing belt.

3. your compression will be a bit higher since the Y8's combustion chamber is more quenched than a Z6 head.

Can I ask why you are doing this? If you've already got a beefed-up Z6 head, why switch to the Y8 head casting?

Are you aware that the Y8 intake head ports are more restrictive at higher RPMS than the Z6?

And yes, it will increase the CR to approx. 9.5 or 9.6:1.

cuz it needs a full valve job and this way is cheaper

I thought that the y8 head flowed better?

factory cam gear

Will raise my comp to 9.2-9.3, I am @ 9.0 right now (built turbo motor)

[QUOTE=94dxt]factory cam gearQUOTE]

I thought the Y8 and Z6 cam ears were different? Do you use teh cam gear that corresponds to the head (my guess)? What is the difference between teh two and what are the implications of using the wrong one?
