I have a d16y7 in my car now an im soon planning to put a z6 head that i have on it..
from what a few friends have told me the timing is different on the z6 and the y7.
my question about that is can i just use the z6 camgear and crank timing gear on the y7 block and it be timed rite? or can i reverse that and do y7 camgear and y7 crankgear?
any help would be awsome would just like to know for sure before i go trying stuff haha
thanks guy's an gal's!

whoever told you that info should be slapped with a large slimy tuna fish
here is the process. use the same everything, timing belt. crank, pullys, gears. they are all the same size.
1 take the head off, put the bottom crank pully to TDC, dont forget to drain the coolant
2 just put the z6 head on it. bolt it on.
3 make sure the cam gear is TDC also.
4slip the timing belt on it and tightn the tensioner.
put all that junk back together, dont forget to bleed the coolant properly.
and do an oil change.
