WTF, VSS code...?
Got a code 17 driving to work today in traffic. Doing no more than 20mph. Got to work, and after work drove home. No VSS code.
Does this sound like a bad connection somewhere? Or maybe my speedo cable could cause it (the speedo needle currently wobbles)?

But the VSS has nothing to do with the power steering. The fluid runs through it only for the aid of the power steering rack.
If the speedometer is working than the VSS code shouldn't come on. Did you notice if it was working or not?

Yes, the speedo works... I recently changed my gauge cluster over to an '89 cluster, and now this code appears (and this also explains why frickin' VTEC wasn't working at the track last Friday).
I'm going to swap back to the old cluster today and test it, then swap to the new cluster, and see if I can troubleshoot... the new cluster is so much nicer, I don't want to lose it
