WTF dizzy issues?
95 gsr
So i decided to sell my stock dizzy to a friend who needed one asap. Sold it, got a new remanufactured one for the same price.
Drive around for a week, the tach starts jumping around like a mexican jumping bean. So before i can even silicone the inside of the dizzy by the ignitor, the focker totally goes out on me in the ghetto.
I use a friends spare dizzy and rewire it for internal coil on the side of the road using the coil out of the remanufactured one that went out on me. Turn the car on, it runs, great. No problems for 3 weeks.
Last night, driving on the highway, click it down to third, hammer it for a min. BOOM, totally out like someone switched the ignition off. I roll into a lot, and pull the plug wire out and put a spare plug in it to check for spark. The car starts fine, ran ok. So I let it run for 5 mins, get ready to go and the car dies before i even get in to take off.
So i go and get a good known dizzy and stock ecu. First i plug the new dizzy in, and try to start the car, its difficult to start but does and works fine. Its showing a code 15 and code 8. So i then swap out the ecu for the stock gsr one. Now its throwing a code 8 only. I reset the ecu and fuses multiple times. Still have the trusty code ******* 8 there.
Is there any fuses, or relays or anything that would cause this? Or is it possibly simply from unplugging the dizzy 45 times in a month from swapping out these shitty remanufactured distributors.
Ive checked all the pins in the plug and they are all perfect and making contact.
Next step is to pull the harness and redo the wiring for the distributor harness i guess.
Thanks for any imput. In the mean time ill be juggling distributors since there are like 23 of them in the back seat.
