Default WTF! cant pull an engine code... read on

I have a CEL and i cant pull the code. Yes, i know how to jump it. I am running a P28 socketed by RJardy with a chip that Tom (Tbone) made for me. [P30 scaled to 1.8l w/ 310's] My car runs but wont rev over 3500... what could be the deal?

hmm. i grounded D4 and had no luck, i also tried my buddies P28 which was socketed by hondata themselves. i dont know what the deal is, there is no chance that its the chip, is there?

so you used the same chip with a different ecu and still the same problem?

sounds like the chip is having check sum problems.

Whenever u first turn the key on, does the check engine light come on and go out? Or does it stay on? if it stays on then it may be the chip and thats why it wont rev over 3,500 as well.

If the gsr ecu works than its the check sums of the chip he made. Try another chip.

Oh i think i misunderstood, u tried your chip in another p28? Yes its def the chip then, its the checksums. If they dont agree than u will have a no go. Like i said in the previous post if the check engine light never flashes off when u turn the key to the "on" position thats the problem.

yo are you throwing a code with the ignition on and NO jumper in place?

if not, then i'm pretty sure it is normal that you cant bring up the code when you jump it.

Basically, I think whatever problem it is that you are having, is not a problem that would throw a CEL(however rare that might be).

but thats just my guess.

but yeah, swap out the ecu and see whats up.
u dont know anyone with a gsr?
