Would it be possible to do this???
Well i have a 91 si hatchback with a 2001 LS motor in it, I was thinking of doing the hole LS/Vtec thing.... I was wondering if its possible on preping the block and doing everything with the motor in the car.... I would be doing a piston swap with new rod bearings ect... I am just conserned about the other stuff and if i could do it without removing the block......
Even though it is a 2001 motor, if you are putting new pistons and rings in the best idea would to have the block out of the car and get de-glazed and a new cross-hatch for the new rings. That would also make it way easier when checking the rod and crank bearing clearances.
I have heard of people changing pistons through the oil pan, but if your gonna do it might as well do it right the first time
. Too many LS/Vtec horror stories out there.
