Default Would not having a gas cap affect performance?

Like the topic says - Would not having a gas cap cause a car to lose power, and why?

i think it would afftect the fuel pressure. Not sure though

Not sure about performance wise. But.. your tank is pressurized. If you don't have a gas cap on it, you'll get a check engine light..

yes it will cause a fluctation (sp) in the fuel pressure which can affect horsepower as well as fuel economy.
