Default ?would a new chip help?

i have a 1995 gsr and the rev limiter is at 7200 rpms... mechanic says everything is normal, so I think I dont have a GSR ecu. Do you guys think that's the problem?

know anyone with another GSR u can borrow? best way to check if its ur engine or just ur ecu.

everything on his ecu is scratched out so he cant see what it says on it

Sounds like you have a P28 ECU. If you open the ECU up, there should be a sticker inside it with a bar code and the part number-5 digits followed by the code that tells you what ECU you have (P28,P72,PR3, etc.).
