Re: JRSC w/ CAI or Short ram help!!!? (DeDonDeRosa)
You're forgetting one thing; cold air is better than hot for blowers. And no, a CAI is called a "COLD air intake" for a reason; the coldest temps are near the bottom of the car. The hottest place on a car is in the engine bay. which is why a short-ram will make your blower run hotter.

Stick with CAI.

no but i heard that because of the cold air intake that the blower has to work harder to suck in the air than it would a short ram

regardless of if it has to work harder... unless your fuel system is adaptive to cold air I wouldn't put it on there... lots of stock turboed/supercharged cars can run into HUGE problems (such as blown motors) when using a cai... the air is denser so yes it's better but only if the ecu adds fuel to compensate... other wise it could lead to running lean...

If you don't have a custom fuel setup I would use whatever they suggest you use.

And as far as cutting your aem... NO sell it and buy a short ram for less then you sold the aem for... or keep the aem for later (when you do have fuel adjustability).

Check out the fake j's racing thread in eg... it's DIRT cheap like 40 or 50 bucks... you could sell your aem for at least 75 probobly more.
