would a dump for the exhaust help or hurt??
just wondering,,a buddy down the street,,has a 65 GTO,,with a 428,or 429,,i can never remember
well,,he has some cutouts on his exhaust,,and to open them he just pulls 2 thick wires,.,,and they open,,and let the exhaust dunp out right after the headers
i was just thinking,,what that would do for our lil 4 cyl???
if it may help,,i was just gonna do it,,on my future 94 civic hybrid,,R swap,,,or GSR swap
let me know what u think
i know our cars need a lil backpressure,,but is there any speed the dumps could help??
thanks mike

My b16 crx was a couple tengths faster when I would unbolt the exhaust at the track. If I could just pull some strings instead of getting under my car and burning off my hand every time, it would be cool. It seems easier said than done, though....
Screw the backpressure

so did u compare any times ,,from unbolting the exhaust,,to keeping it bolted up??
maybe it just helps top end,,and hurts low end
the only prob with my buddies cutouts,,is that his dont seal very well,,and they rattle a lil,,
,,but still being able to open them,,and close them,,if a cop drives by is coo
i had a 69 charger,,and i had cutouts on them,,but i didnt like his at the time,,so i got the ones where u have a plate over the opening,,and u put 3 butterfly screws,,to tight'n them down,,
i used towles,,to not burn myself,,
i guess i just want some stuff to remind me of a muscle car,,heheh
i hope more people reply to this,,,and say that its good for top end
cuz ill b buying a cutout and put it on when i do my swap,,only thing is i wanna try and make the one with the wire not rattle,,and seal better
anyone??

Anyway, top end or bottom, I really don't know. It was a b16 so I never really kept it below 4000rpm. Bottom end was not a concern of mine.
well,,lookes like i will b buing one for when i get my swap
what is the diameter on the greddy PE??
isnt just a lil over 2.25 inch????
now if i can find one of those cutouts that seals good,,and u can open and close from inside the car
