Need help with exhaust ticket in Cali...
I just got rolled for amplified exhaust. The officer told me it was a fix it ticket but the court says it is a violation and a point on my record...WTF. Any one know what i can do or being in california do i get to just take it up the butt?
well in todays ..Lawmen vs..people who modifly there car...
in a way we lose.. but to be truthfull..they have to prove that your cars
exhaust decibel must be at I beleive 95dbs or above to be ticketed for a amplified.. or modified exhaust.. though legislation has passed that could help us fight against cops who issue tickets to anyone with a shiny exhaust or a lawnmower sound exhaust tone
...but for now it's hard to prove that the officer lacks the ability to measure any sound.. damn am I making sense =x I just woke up
.. flame me later

dammit SHO *****.. just becuz I'm a **** don't mean u have to tell anyone =x yeah but it's like 95dbs maximum.. but come on who walks the street with a decibel reader anyways..
Yeah I remember seeing a CHP bulletin a while back, stating that they are not supposed to give tickets for modified exhausts any more. Your exhaust must be under 95 dbs but as things stand right now they have no way of mesuring it to prove that its over 95 dbs. Another thing if you can find that bulletin it would be a cool thing to keep in your car just in case you get pulled over for your exhaust again. A friend of mine had it when he got pulled over for his exhaust and he brought out the bulletin and argued with the cop. The cop ended up just letting him go. I attached a link that might help you out.

thanx for all the links hopefully they will be some help when i go to court... the cop was just being a DICK my car is turbo and actually very quiet especially under acceleration, i got my ticket in o'side on mesa drive and it was a chp not even a cop
I have an apex-i n1 black mufler with 2.5 inch piping... the black keeps it on the down low sort of and it isnt very loud, i have the silencer but it wasnt in when i got the ticket
cl4show, print out the bulliten and then submit it to the court!! Also, put the silencer in when you go so if for some reason the Judge wants to see the car and the exhaust.....you can and the silencer is in
BTW, I work in the courts so if you are going in front of a Judge, dress good.....and be polite no matter what man, he can make your day hell.

cool good lookin out man but i may have a problem cuz i blew the motor and it aint even in the car oops oh well sux for me unless my motor can get built in 30days cuz i already have an extention but you know how that goes
Well...1st of all, modified exhaust is not a point in your record. Yes it will stay in your record but they will not deduct a point. Depends what the cop cited you for. Modifed exhaust or amplified exhaust. THat is two different violation. Lately, The cops in the bay area are not letting you sign off. Just go to court and tell tyhe judge that you have change it back to stock. If you can, get a cop to sign it off. If it is elgible for dismissal... then you can sign it off and pay only $10 at the CLerk's office. HOw do you I knoW? I think I should be label as a ticketmaster
