Default work on my SI

I have a 2000 Honda Civic Si and I want to do some work to it. This car is my daily driver, every day about 60 miles. I have the basic bolt ons like CAI, headers, cat, exhaust, short shifter, and stuff like that. This brings me to my question. I want to do something to my car to produce horsepower(200 and above) but also be very reliable. I dont have time to be constantly tuning and playing with my car. What should I do; all motor, supercharge, or turbo?. If you have any suggestions on what I should do, parts needed or recomended, or any helpful hints I would really appreciate it. Also, I only have like 1,000 to 1,500 $ to work with.

K20A Type R swap! 220 HP, and it drops right in. Granted, it comes with a hefty price tag... But the K20 aftermarket isn't exactly thriving yet (though according to many rumors, a JRSC is due out in March... You might want to wait for that).

LSVTEC, if dont correctly and if u treat it correctly and dont beat on it , it can be just as reliable, its what i plan on doing, but the problem is, after having a b16 with a near perfect rod ratio im sure ur so used to revving the crap out of it like i am,lol, somthing u do not want to with the poor rod ratio lsvtec, plus u wouldn't need too since u got more bottom end power

Any of the previously mentioned upgrades cannot be done right for the desired price. Honestly save your money.

Well I'll suggest that an engine swap, LSVtec, turbo, or supercharger doesn't really fit in those restraints.

N2O is a good economical choice for you (eventhough I'm not a pro-nitrous guy). You could go as far as some cams and hihger cr. pistons but even then you would be boarderline your price range.

Not to go off subject but have you done any suspension modifications yet? That amount of money would do fairly well for a suspension and still retain the reliable daily driverness of your car. Good luck

He's got a 2000 Si (EM1)... not a 2002 or newer (EP3). That would work for an EP3, but not an EM1 without some really serious modifications.

200+ hp is tough to get with "reliable" and "cheap". Given the price range and reliability goal, you might consider valvetrain (something like Toda Bs or Skunk2 Stage 2s) and pistons... and probably do the work yourself. Some others might disagree, but I think N/A is probably the most reliable if done well.

I'd second that. And add in some slotted front rotors, pads all around. Control what you have first, then go for more power.
