Default wobbly shifter

hey

I just installed a b series into an EF using Hasport mounts. I have noticed that the shifter is unusually wobbley, even when in gear. Is this due to a bad connection at the bitch pin? We used a new bushing at the stabilizer bar to tranny connection, for the two bolts that hold the linkage to the chassis.

Thanks

Seb

Did you use a HASport linkage or a modified teggy one? Almost every HASport linkage I've seen has a lot of play, mine does for sure. A friend of mine sent his back and had it upgraded, it was better but not the best. The only real solution I've seen for this is to replace the U joint with a zero-play sealed joint.

we used a Hasport linkage. I'll crawl under there and see if I can look where the play is coming from

If you grab on both sides of the U joint and wiggle you'll be able to feel the play in it. Check this out. It's very popular with the number of CRX/EF customers we have running sloppy old linkages.

thanks for the link. We were unable to get the bitch pin all the way seated.. we were tired and sore as hell. Could this be some of our problem?

It could be, but you should be able to feel where the play is if you grab it and move the linkage.
