I am trying to decide between the K541M81 and the K542M81. I want my compression ratio to be somewhere between 8.4-8.9. I will be using a .074" Cometic head gasket. I tried to use a compression ratio calculator, but couldn't figure out what my piston-to-deck height was because when I entered what Wiseco said it would be, it came out to be a lot higher than what it was supposed to be. So which of these 2 should I get? Not trying to start a debate on which piston company is better, just want some opinions on these 2 sets. Thanks.

 

OEM gasket + K541M81.

Well I already have the .074" gasket.

 

Then go with the 542's if you're dead set on using that gasket. I would go with the 541's and OEM gasket. If you ever go LSVTEC, it will put your compression right around 9.0:1. With the 542s, you're probably going to be seeing high 9s with a VTEC head. I'd rather compensate with the piston, rather than a gasket.

 

Well I am not going VTEC. Just LS turbo. I think I will get the 542. Thanks. Anyone else?
