Ok, this is frustrating... Anyways, basicly I removed my evaporator this weekend and now my windows wont work, I checked all the fuses, attempted to trace the wires, and no work. I have a chilton manual but is for "del sols", not all del sols have any power windows. Anyone been in the situation?, advice needed please..

basically, that sux. Somewhere you're going to have to trace the wiring for your power window circuit, from beginning to end, and find the problem. Not going to be fun. start at the driver side power window switches i suggest.

You probably damaged the harness somehow as it runs right behind the evaporator. Check continuity on all the wires. It's not too hard to do really, just pull the switches, put a short piece of pare wire (like a paperclip) in the corresponding slots and check for continuity and short circuits. You have checked the fuses right? i suspect you damaged the insulation on a wire or two and they are shorting to the chasis. That would blow the fuse instantly.

I wish i could find a wiring diagram for the accessories, I found millions for the engine and climate control but none for windows..

okay looks like my locks work, mirrors work, still no blown fuses.. not seeing anything thats loose, uncovered, only items not connected anymore is the radio & a/c.

 

Go to http://www.helminc.com. There you can buy the factory service manual for your make and model. These manuals are a little expensive but well worth the investment. I just got mine last week and they are invaluable!!

your gonna want to start w/ the connector in the drivers side door jamb... try using the windows w/ the door open and closed.. i doubt you created the problem by replacing the evap ( if your fuses are ok, it wouldn't affect both sides..)
Try "wiggling" the wires in the jamb while controlling the window and see if it works..
I'm not certain but your power window control unit may be "incorporated" with the master switch unit. ( someone plz correct me if i am wrong)...
On earlier Honda models ( pre- 90's) the window control unit was located in the drivers side door and would develop "cold soldered" joints after years of slammin' the door...
You may wanna look closely at the connector within the drivers side door jam and look for any kind of corrosion or a bad pin fit... GL
has the car ever been involded in an accident affecting the left side door?
I had one last week where the connectors in the door were crushed creating all sorts of probs...
of course...I do replace bad window switches on a regular occassion...

If you buy a service manual you will most definately want to buy an ETM too.

 

come to think of it...the main cabin harness on your car does enter the engine compartment ont the right side of the firewall... did you have a "fuss" trying to install the evap?.. you shouldn't have because the Del's have quite a bit of room to work with underneath that area of the dash.. from what i remember, the cabin harness should be way above the evap and you should not have came in contact w/ it at all... may wanna check to see if you didn't pinch a wire or maybe put an evap screw in the wrong place.. simple answer to this would be ..get yourself a "test light" or a DVOM ( digital volt/ohm meter) and see if you are at least getting power to the Main power window switch... and second off...make sure you are getting "ground" contacts there as well...
You should have a single pin brown connector that plugs into your master window switch as well.. that is to supply the common ground to the other window.. but that ground does not affect the drivers side..
if you have power and ground going in...then check for a power and ground signal coming out of that same connector with the switch attached... you w/ me so far?

 

ya, I think I know what ya mean. Gunna have to get back behind there again, and look around for a bit longe.
