will running open header help...or hurt?

I am going to the track this weekend, and was wodnering if running open heade ron an otherwise stock b16 will help me, or hurt
I have an aem intake, and thats about it!

what do u think?

consider that i still have the sohc vtec exhaust attatched tot he car right now
so its very restricted

should I

1)leave it with stock sohc exhaust(even tho my motor is now a b16)
2)unbolt the exhaust from the header back
3) unbolt the exhaust from the rear axle, back?

leave it on...ull need the back pressure

if you drive above 5000 RPM then leave it off. Otherwise leave it on youll be slow off the line and your ears will heart like hell

and i'm sure it will do wonders for your underbody. 600*F can really get to you!

Actually you might be able to get a "new" axle-back that just a pipe with hangers. A muffler shop might do that for <$50. Just to keep those hot *** gasses off your car.
