Default Will my car run with this broken part

Hi, Ive just rebuilt my engine (h22a7) and while i was removing the crank gear one of the fins broke off..Ive managed to get one from a guy on here (cheers Trequartista) but as he is over the pond delivery will take 3-4 weeks. Will my car still run with the crank gear pictured. It has a fin missing which gives a signal to the crank sensor. I know i may get an engine light but will my car run if i fit the broken part and swap over the new one while im waiting delivery?

I could wait but im itching to fit the engine and i only have access to the engine hoist for a limited period..

Sure. Honda actually wanted to make them like that in the first place; missing one fin.

Yes it will still run, the spark trigger is still in the distributor. That sensor solely exists to determine if there is a misfire on the crankshaft itself. (seeing as that is pretty difficult to determine in the cylinder head)

yes, provided all the parts mate up properly. You will have a crank position sensor code until you fix it, will not affect the car whatsoever.
