Default Will i run rich if i eliminate the 2nd o2 sensor

i have a 97 civic Ex with a drag 3 turbo kit. I'm about to get at test pipe made at a local shop, but they said that they could not put the o2 sensor in the pipe. A friend told me that if i took out the 2nd o2 sensor that my car would run very rich, and would not operate properly. Is he correct??

your car will go into limp mode(no power)...unless you have swithced the car to OBD1.

bull ****.....it runs a little rich and u get a little less MPG. Not a big deal. Just tape it to your shift linkage. I read that somewhere and thats what I am doing and no problems so far.

Yeah, wrap it to (condom, non lubed to stop H2O from gettin to it...and keep it away from heat...(so the raincoat doesn't melt...)
BTW, you can run it through the firewall to the inside of your car...
Just get it on a wideban o2 and tune it with a fuel comp and FPR while the o2 is relocated hwere ya want it...

The car does run on limp mode as soon as it figures out the sensor is not getting a reading.

For some sensors, not all. I have been runing with a bad 2nd O2 sensor for some time, and havn't felt any difference in power. I still get 30+ mpg.

ya I had the O2 and the sub harness gone. CEL on and all...and no problems. I think I may have lost like a couple of MPG's MAYBE. There is no limp mode for the secondary O2 sensor. Only time I have encountered limp mode is when someopne bumps my ECU and knocks the dist wire loose. then I have the 3500 rev-limit.
