Will it hurt my engine...?
All right, I'm right now I'm running a P28 ecu with a Skunk2 program. This thing runs really rich, you can really smell fuel if you stand behind the car. My question is will it hurt the engine in any way because I'm running this rich? Do I have to disconnect my battery everytime I take out my ecu? Will it damage anything if I don't disconnect the battery? I want to be able to take out my ecu when ever I leave my car alone for a while without disconnecting the battery, kind of like a anti-theft thing. The way I see it they can't take my car without an ecu, right.
Thanks for helping a noob out

what mods do u have besides the ecu + chip. running rich isnt really a bad thing, running lean is a problem tho. wont hurt the enigine, it will smell bad ( i like it tho) and you'll possibly start backfiring but this is dependant on how much un-spent fuel is getting exhausted.
Yes it can and will hurt the rings if it's too rich,it's called fuel wash and it kills the lubricity of the oil, along w/washing the oil of the cyl walls so the rings ride on metal and wear much faster.
