Will a B20 head fit on a LS block??
Please help:
I have a extra b20b complete head from my previous b20vtec swap and I was wondering if it will bolt right up to the LS block. My brother's wife has a stock LS with a trillion miles on it and he needs to put new rings in the block and get the LS head pretty much totally redone. If the b20 head will bolt right up then I'll just give him the head to save him money and all he'll have to do is pay for the new rings to solve the major smoking problem. Just curious if it'd fit since its a little bigger head (2.0L) going on a smaller block (1.8L). I know all the b series motors are interchangeable, so hopefully this will work out for him. Thanks.

Yes the b20 head will bolt-on with no problems. Just make sure the intake manifold is like the ls intake manifold and not like the CRV intake manifold or you can use the ls intake manifold off your old ls head. hope this helps you out.
thank you thank you, yes he'll be using the LS IM rather than the tunnel ram from the b20.. thanks for the quick response.
are the b20 cams the same as the LS or does it matter what cams to use? I am guessing using the b20 cams will be better since its a factory motor and they're the cams that came with the head origionally. Also is there gonna be any power difference since the b20 head is bigger or are the two heads basically the same thing? I was thinking the combusion chamber would be bigger on the b20 head from the LS head?

both heads are identical. I have heard that the JDM b20z intake cam has .003 more degrees then the LS heads... but if anything.. the b20 head is better.
