Default Will this affect my gauges

ok, here's the setup, i'm gonna have some aftermarket gauge so i can monitor my car better once i get boosted. i have this nice setup where one or two of teh gauges in hidden in one of the vents.

my question is: will the temps of the heater mess up the reading on my gauges (such as oil press., boost, etc). i'm pretty sure they will if i have the thing set to hot, but then everything should work find as long as i dont have the A/C or heat running right? thanks

No the interior temps have no effect on the gauges. The sensors for the gauges only read temperatures of the particular component that have them hooked up to. If you took a heat gun to your gauge it wouldnt move at all. If you took a heat gun to the sensor the temp would rise because it is the sensor that is measuring the temp not the gauge.

I know that you arent running a temp gauge but the theory is still the same. Each gauge monitors a certain component and only that component. Nothing else can really affect the operation of the gauge.

so even for like a mechanical pressure or vacuum gauge, the air inside the tubing won't be affected by the heat/cold? i thought this might possibly cause the air to expand/contract and give inaccurate readings. if this isn't the case though, then all the better for me. thanks for the help

i guess i'll run with a gauge inside my vent for awhile and see how it does. if it drastically affects my readings i'll relocate it, or maybe i'll just get used to not using the heater or A/C. anyone else have experience with putting gauges where the vents are?

Dont use mechanical use the electrical ones, that way you dont have any tubes running into your car that can leak. also you dont have to worry about the air heating up the fluid in the tubes.

well i already have the mechanical ones, so using electrical isn't an options for me right now. i still have to pay alot for school so every dollar means alot to me, so i chose to go with mechanical gauges
