OK...I want to get a set of gauges to accomodate my future mods. I'm planning on an autometer full pillar with three gauges - a/f ratio, oil pressure, and water temp. Good choices for n/a right?
Now, next question. I'm trying to decide between mechanical and electrical gauges for the oil pressure. I'm kind of a stranger to working in the engine compartment as of yet...but I'm trying to change that. I figure gauges would be a good place to start, so I'm doing this myself. Anyway, how much harder would it be to install the mech gauges? Do you think its worth it? They have the new full sweep electrical water temp gauge so I'm getting that, and the a/f ratio is electric, but what about the oil pressure...mechanical or electric?
Final question. I'm also considering just getting a dual pod pillar and a bezel around my current gauge cluster, so that I can fit those gauges plus a vaccuum gauge (fuel prices are getting out of hand). Is a vaccuum gauge that useful though in saving gas? Or is it a waste of time/money?
Thanks for any help you can give me...

The mechanical oil pressure gauges are evidently very easy to install - as easy if not easier than electrical. Basically you have an extremely thin, long plastic tube running from a T-fitting on your oil pressure sending unit to your gauge.
I fail to see how a vacuum gauge will help you save gas... am I missing something here? *scratches head*

Woah man, you're quick. Thanks.
OK, if that's all there is to it, I think I'll get the mechanical gauge. Next question...they come in 0-100 PSI, 0-150 PSI, and 0-200 PSI. This car's remaining a daily driver, although it'll see some autoX and drag racing. But, still, daily driver, so I'm never going to do anything extreme to it. So does anyone think I'll ever have to worry about going above 100 PSI?
