Default wierd rpm problem?

hey everyone, i have an odd problem that no one can figure out. i swapped a b16a into my 94 si coupe. the motor was rebuilt with about 10k on rebuild and came out of my other car and it worked perfectly fine. i have no check engine lights and the problem is that my car is not revving to 8400 like it used to, it cuts out any wheres from 7800-8000. its always different, i have a new dizzy, and have tried a different dizzy and ecu and it changed nothing.

any ideas?

it has a recently new fuel filter, what would cause the fuel pump to act like that?

Cutting out in high RPM is often caused by a fuel shortage... Check your fuel pressure while this is occuring. If it's dropping off then it could be fuel pump, filter, pressure regulator.
If it's not dropping off, then it could be spark quality, ignition timing, fuel injectors, fuel quality. Set the base ignition timing to factory spec for that engine. What ECU are you using? Does it go lean at high RPM? How do the spark plugs look? What was the car it was in? What OBD are you running? What distributor are you running? Type & temp of spark plugs?

motor is a obd1 jdm b16a, it came out of my 92 civic dx, and everything worked perfect in that chassis, brand new after market dizzy, spark plugs look fine, im using a p30 ecu. i put the motor in a 94 si coupe cause it had like 400 000 k less then my hatch and its only running at like 90%. ill test my fuel pressure and see whats going on there. i thought it could be the dizzy so i switched it for a honda one and nothing changed, same for the ecu.
